Greetings and Salutations

Well..
Yes indeed, well... here i am alone at last, sprawled out on the floor, cheeks to the ceiling, and i figured it was time to write down some thoughts.. so instead of grabbing a paper and a pen i pulled out my trusty laptop(hes not really that trusty as he's loud and whines all the time.. annoying little bugger.. hes getting old and fatigued) and here i go..

Oh and i forgot to mention my brother is snoring soundly across the room from me.. both those suckers snore like wild hogs, incredible really wot wot.. Any who, ive been on Christmas break from streams for a couple weeks now and its been quite the treat. Ive been perusing the streets(well actually ive spent most of my time in a cave/prayer chapel) of northern California, Redding to be exact. Home of the legendary Bethel church n my buds in the school of ministry there. As well as hitting up a 10hr drive to Arizona and visiting my grandparents for a couple days, followed with another long road trip to San Diego.. wooo

Fun fact about San Diego.. im not a big fan.. thats all

But we did get the chance to minister as a family at a friends church, which i forget the name of ironically enough. It was the first time all 5 of us Matthews did a service together and i must say it was quite powerful. My old man opened up the sunday evening with a short but tasty session on Daniel and his relationship with the magicians and new agers of his day. He managed to rustle some feathers in the somewhat conservative intellectual congregation. Little brother but Bethel celebrity superpreacher Caleb Matthews shared some testimonies of the power of god in action.. Also rustling some feathers, u should check out some of his stories here: http://healingherald.org/2009/12/stomach-cancer-healed/
Then i shared on intimacy and being yourself, and hanging out with god. I sat away from the pulpit on the stage, with my legs dangling freely and proceeded to encourage the congregation that sometimes it is just good to get pissed at god and be honest.. like david was, but remember to end in praise and thankfullness as he always did..
All in all it was a solid evening, we finished it off with words of knowledge, prophetic and some healings took place n many tears were shed.. A true treat delievered by the Matthews clan.

well i listened to a teaching by good ol kris vallatoon.. it was talking about vision and making a difference in this world.. and i was inspired so a wrote a litte thingy.. poem i guess ud call it i dunno anywho give it a read.. and let the holy spirit talk to you as u read it..

Time
One day, one day at a time,
time ticks,
ticks, ticks away,
your time is ticking,
tick, tick ticking away.

What will you do?
Who will you be?

You have time,
the same time given to Einstein,
given to Edison,
Wycliffe and Wilberforce.

Why dont you dream?
When will you start?

Your time is now,
the clock is ticking,
when will you wake up,
wake up from your slumber.
wake up and realize,
your time is now.

time to dream,
time to create,
time to study,
and time to believe.

you can do anything,
you can do nothing,
you can change the world,
you can change the channel.

It all falls on you,
you my friend,
wat you do,
with the time that is given,
that is given to you.

and so your time is ticking,
tick tick ticking,
ticking away,

what will you do?
who will you be?
when will you start?

Its your time,
its in your grasp,
tick tick, tickity tick,
how will you respond?

One day, one day at a time,
time ticks,
ticks ticks away,
your time is ticking,
tick, tick ticking away.

Salem Round 2

Well here I am watching some football with a few pals; since I'm learning how to multitask i figured id put it into practice and finish off some stories from Salem. Before that tho I feel the need to share and be a little honest(just a little tho, its hard for me) Ive always struggled with the opening paragraph of essays, stories, blogs, journals, poems etc etc... Which is why I will continue this thought in the next paragraph.

I will relate it to how I communicate with people, I am in fact terrible at small talk. I don't like to talk about the weather, respond to the question how are you? or whats up? when you really dont care about the answer , current celebrity happenings, or other entry level conversations. I enjoy getting straight to the point, the meat of the matter you could say. I relate it to a hamburger, im a deliverer of the burger but im not a bun guy.. Anywho im rambling about nothing so lets get into some more stories from Salem..

I was talking with this girl named Jackie outside of our tents, she wanted to know what we were doing. I explained about a personal relationship with god and how it works, that god was like a best friend for me.. n the more time u spend with him the more u get to know him and understand his voice and how he speaks.. She was really intrigued and I activated her in her gift of prophecy and she gave me a really accurate word talking about the past year of my life.. She had a headache and I informed her god wanted to heal that, she didnt know whether to believe that.. So i shared the stories about the 3 ladies from my last blog, because there is power in sharing what God has done as the verse goes "the spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus" meaning sharing what Jesus has done and is doing releases a power(prophecy meaning calling things that arent yet as tho they were and are). Then i declared healing for her head and the headache left and she couldnt believe it.. Her eyes got really big and she exlaimed "it just cant be, no way! howw?"

It says in the Bible that signs and wonders will follow those who believe.. do u believe? if u do signs will follow you, thats your inheritance.. its nothing u have to force its just a natural product of believing in god and drawing closer in relationship to him.. All u have to do is believe, seems simple enough right? But many struggle to believe everything that God says, they pick and choose what they want to believe about him.. and as a result they have a limited view of God which affects how they live there lives.. Your view of God will directly affect how you view yourself and how you view the situations and circumstances around you.. Believe God, believe what he says in his word, and believe who he says you are and what your called to do!

Not to get preachy but I just want to show what our responsibility is as believers of Jesus.. He was speaking to the discples and said:
"Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. "And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; "they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover."So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs.

This is what our group was doing at Salem.. The word gospel in that passage means "Good News" We are to proclaim the good news to all of creation, so many believers of Jesus proclaim all that is wrong with the world, and how sinful people are, or tell people they are gonna burn in hell and have the right heart but the wrong message.. Our message is to be "Good News" we are called to encourage, give hope where there is none, and most importantly we are called to love, love love.. The signs and healings and power of god is nothing without the love of God.. We are caled to love god with all our hearts and love our neighbours as we would love ourselves..

In Salem there are christian groups who come to preach at people and they arent received well.. They have the right heart but the wrong message. We go into Salem first and formost to love the people, we dont have an agenda n arent looking to lead people thru a sinners prayer or get them to believe they are dirty nasty sinners and are gonna burn in hell.. We just go in and love people and as a result the power of god shows up and people get healed, delivered, and encounter the love and power of god in a nonreligious way.

I proclaim the "Good News" that God is a good God in a good mood, that he wants to talk to you, he wants a personal relationship with you.. Hes not angry or upset with humanity and he doesnt punish people and cause earthquakes and famines.. He doesnt give people sickness so they can learn to appreciate him and repent for there miserable lives, and he doesnt cause people to party, do drugs and alchohol so he can use there testimony.. He still heals people, he still encounters people thru dreams, visions, and experiences, he can give a joy which will carry you thru the roughest of times and his love is greater than anything.. His presence is an intoxicating peace which is greater then any experience u can have in drugs or alchohol..

Most people know the angry god that was presented to them thru the chuch, but they havent met the good God in a good mood.. So I like to introduce them to this good God who changed my life.. That is our mandate as believers of Jesus is to present the "Good News" and bring life and light into darkness and death..

Well again ive gotten chatty haha and only told one story.. I will share with you one more story from Salem.. As well check out a fellow student at streams of mine's blog: http://abigaillyn.wordpress.com/ Her name is Abby and she has some interesting thoughts and stories from her life, as well as some amazing songs as shes a budding young star.. :) Shout out to you Abby..

Me and my brother Caleb were talking to a guy in a penguin pajama costume.. He had back pain but wasnt really that interested and kept wanting to tell us he didnt believe in God.. We said thats ok because God believed in him and wanted to heal him anyway! Caleb told him that God was gonna move thru him and he would pray for himself to get healed.. The man did so and was totally healed haha! He was baffled and walked away shaking his head and muttering!!

It was so great to see that many people who didnt believe God still healed, and used them to heal other people.. Once they saw this power of God they came to believe in him and question there views on spirituality... Great Times at Salem and Im out fot today... Off to watch a soccer game

Haunted Happiness

Well its friday nite, ive returned from a bethel firestorm session. Quite solid I must say, n I concluded its time to write down testimonies from my latest trip to Salem Massachusetts.
The good ol single life huh, free nights and time to spare.. I waste them learnin guitar, hangin out with big G or writin away.. Good flippin times..

Well let me explain a little about this trip of mine.. Me and 5 friends from Streams Canada(Miffy, Abby, Danielle, Anthony, Dave) took a 10 day trip to Salem, Mass to partake in an event called Haunted Happenings.. Basically its a couple week long festival that takes place every October celebrating Halloween. People come from all over the world to visit Salem and experience the history and tradition of the city as well as visit psychic shops, palm readings, and various other new agey thingamabobs.. There are some pretty extreme costumes freely flaunted there as well with the most popular being mario and luigi this year!

Me and the crew are involved with a church called The Gathering, who basically are located right in the heart of Salem and are a church who focus primarily on relationship with god and people over rules and structures. They are true lovers of all people groups and religions and the city and locals love them to pieces. Every Halloween for the past few years Streams has par terned with The Gathering to put together free dream interpretation and spiritual readings on the streets of Salem. I will run you thru what this means in the next paragraph..

So I will pretend you are a curious visitor approaching our street front setup. You are strolling along Essex Street in Salem observing weird costumes and spooky shops, as your passing by live music on the stage you see these big white tents.. Instantly your drawn to these tents perhaps by the big FREE on the sign, maybe its the oozing atmosphere of love radiating of our people, or last and quite often the case its my wild dancing, undeniable charm and or loud obnoxious voice :) You approach me and ask what is this all about?

I respond with.. Welll, if you have a dream like when u fall asleep at night. We can interpret that for you.. If you dont have a dream we can do the other one.. Then ill explain that we believe in a personal relationship with god, we believe that he speaks to us.. sometimes thru words, pictures, thoughts, feelings or thru anything in creation etc etc.. so we just take a little bit to listen to his voice and then share what we hear. It might be what kind of person you are, things that you like to do, gifts you have, an area in your life u need encouragement in, or maybe an area we see you succeeding in or something about your destiny. Its all positive so u dont have to worry that were gonna make fun of you, and I usually throw in a funny joke here to lighten the mood a little.

Thats a brief explanation for you, as well this year i decided to make a free healing and spiritual encounter sign. Which is a little less complicated. Most of the testimonies im gonna share were about the healings and encounters that took place outside of the tent as that is where I spent most of my time. With this sign its pretty direct, I believe God still heals people so I just pray for healing. A spiritual encounter is straightforward as well as I invite God to come and encounter people with his love.. and people feel the presence of God.. Sometimes its like fire, wind, they might feel really peaceful, they might get drunk, laugh, cry.. I never know but its awesome as people feel the love of God often for the first time and realize he cares about them.

Well this post is already freakin long and i havent even shared a story yet! Well ull just have to suck it up and keep reading itll be good I promise..

So first from Friday October 30th

So during dinner friday night I came up with the idea to make the free healing n spirit encounter sign.. My good friend Anthony designed the sign and away we went. Me and my brother Caleb spent the rest of the night lurking out front of our tents and had some amazing encounters with people. In the next 2 days we saw over 30-40 healings and countless people meeting the love of God in a personal way.. It was just amazing to see God touch people thru all of us at Salem with Streams.. Heres the first story

Well the healing outbreak all started with these 3 ladies who'd sat in on Miffy and Abby's team.. they loved it and couldnt stop talking about how wonderful it was. Apparently they had just come from a psychic reading and were drawn to our tents..(which happens quite often) They loved our readings and were fascinated with what our team had told them.. While we were talking, I asked Noreen(1st lady) if she had any lower back pain.. She didnt say anything.. Caleb came over and asked the same thing 5min later.. she was surprised how we both knew the same thing and said yes so we declared healing for her back and she was totally healed from about 10 years, and had had nerve damage in her back..

Needless to say she was pretty excited.. The fun part was she had been given a word by Miffy that she was gonna see healing thru her hands.. Caleb got a word of knowledge about her friend Teressa(2nd lady) that she had a knee problem.. she said she had one. I told Noreen that god was gonna use her to heal her friend, so she layed her hands on her friends knee and commanded healing into it.. The knee was totally healed from 2 years of pain.. She was so happy that she wanted us to pray for her breathing problems.. It was noticeably bad.. So we all prayed for that and she got healed from the problem as well and was breathing perfectly..

I then turned to the 3rd lady and asked her if she had upper back pain and she said that she did.. I asked her friends to speak the healing power of God into her back they did and she was totally healed as well.. Me and Caleb then shared about a personal relationship with god and how amazing that is and thats where all of this flows out of.. They were so excited about this and kept hanging around our tents.. I told Noreen she was gonna have a dream confirming it all and to come back tomorrow.. They did all come back tomorrow and confirmed that they were all still healed but she didnt have the dream :).. Which just goes to show nobodies perfect!

Well im gonna end this blog entry for now.. I will write the rest of the stories down tomorrow probably.. As there are many to tell, so thanks for tuning in and make sure you laugh at least once today ok, its good for you.. Thats all Thank You

Writers Block

So here I am starting a blog, all the cool kids were doing it so i figured id better catch the wave and join the adventure. I like to spell things out s-0 I a-m g-o-i-n-g t-o d-o t-h-a-t- f-o-r-u. This blog is intended to share my insights on life, as well as share the various encounters that i have out on the streets regarding spirituality. On occasion I may drop in some random poetry or things that i find enjoyable, these things may make little or no sense to any of you. But as you'll find out that really doesnt concern me that much.

A little about me huh, well im so glad you asked? (insert a chuckle chuckle here). I like to have fun, that will probably be shown in my writing style, i have little regard for the proper way to do things.. I'm just me.(I like to talk about me). In fact I will most likely make many grammatical errors which will most definitely drive some of you insane; that is of course assuming somebody reads this! Anywho I enjoy most sports, reading, and my passion pursuing the presence of the king of this universe.

I am currently residing in Richmond Bc, Canada. Landscaping and construction fill my summers and this winter im a 3rd year intern in a supernatural school of ministry called Streams. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/pages/Richmond-BC/Streams-School-of-Ministry-Canada/80232747957?ref=ts
Basically ill tell you what I relate to every other person who wonders what the heck is he involved with? Most people either go with: Dude youve joined a cult havent you? which might seem far fetched to you but to the people who knew me growing up it would make total sense haha. Or They say hmmm interesting, supernatural huh! go on explain. In the past I struggled to explain what Streams is, recently ive come up with a pretty decent explanation. Which you can read in the next paragraph!

Basically the students take a year out of there lives to figure out what they believe, what there core values are, virtues etc.. We believe in a personal relationship with god, that he wants to speak to us and be involved in our daily lives. So we practice listening to his voice and use that gift to enhance our lives and encourage those around us. There are many ways to hear gods voice which i will explain another time. The students learn to develop there character thru serving the ministry and the community; classes include dreams and visions, mystical realms, godly character, and the founder of Streams John Paul Jacksons courses. Theres a real family feel to being in Streams as all the students live together, eat together, some even sleep together.. Its ok Its ok there married!! dont panic..

Most of what i will be sharing on here related to streams will have to do with the outreaches we go on, which I enjoy ever so much. We do dream interpretation, spiritual readings, spiritual encounters, healing, and other things on our outreaches which include places like universites, colleges, street fairs and festivals, new age events, churches, malls, basically wherever they'll take us! Its a pretty exciting life we live, and im looking forward to sharing with you what gods been doing out on the strees. Its radical stuff for sure.

Anywho thats about all for this note, my next one will include details from a recent trip to the east coast that i embarked on. So be sure to tune in for that. Im gonna leave you with a favorite quote of mine. Its nothing earth shattering but its challenging if you actually apply it.

"Find something thats worth dieing for and start living for it"
