Salem Round 2

Well here I am watching some football with a few pals; since I'm learning how to multitask i figured id put it into practice and finish off some stories from Salem. Before that tho I feel the need to share and be a little honest(just a little tho, its hard for me) Ive always struggled with the opening paragraph of essays, stories, blogs, journals, poems etc etc... Which is why I will continue this thought in the next paragraph.

I will relate it to how I communicate with people, I am in fact terrible at small talk. I don't like to talk about the weather, respond to the question how are you? or whats up? when you really dont care about the answer , current celebrity happenings, or other entry level conversations. I enjoy getting straight to the point, the meat of the matter you could say. I relate it to a hamburger, im a deliverer of the burger but im not a bun guy.. Anywho im rambling about nothing so lets get into some more stories from Salem..

I was talking with this girl named Jackie outside of our tents, she wanted to know what we were doing. I explained about a personal relationship with god and how it works, that god was like a best friend for me.. n the more time u spend with him the more u get to know him and understand his voice and how he speaks.. She was really intrigued and I activated her in her gift of prophecy and she gave me a really accurate word talking about the past year of my life.. She had a headache and I informed her god wanted to heal that, she didnt know whether to believe that.. So i shared the stories about the 3 ladies from my last blog, because there is power in sharing what God has done as the verse goes "the spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus" meaning sharing what Jesus has done and is doing releases a power(prophecy meaning calling things that arent yet as tho they were and are). Then i declared healing for her head and the headache left and she couldnt believe it.. Her eyes got really big and she exlaimed "it just cant be, no way! howw?"

It says in the Bible that signs and wonders will follow those who believe.. do u believe? if u do signs will follow you, thats your inheritance.. its nothing u have to force its just a natural product of believing in god and drawing closer in relationship to him.. All u have to do is believe, seems simple enough right? But many struggle to believe everything that God says, they pick and choose what they want to believe about him.. and as a result they have a limited view of God which affects how they live there lives.. Your view of God will directly affect how you view yourself and how you view the situations and circumstances around you.. Believe God, believe what he says in his word, and believe who he says you are and what your called to do!

Not to get preachy but I just want to show what our responsibility is as believers of Jesus.. He was speaking to the discples and said:
"Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. "And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; "they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover."So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs.

This is what our group was doing at Salem.. The word gospel in that passage means "Good News" We are to proclaim the good news to all of creation, so many believers of Jesus proclaim all that is wrong with the world, and how sinful people are, or tell people they are gonna burn in hell and have the right heart but the wrong message.. Our message is to be "Good News" we are called to encourage, give hope where there is none, and most importantly we are called to love, love love.. The signs and healings and power of god is nothing without the love of God.. We are caled to love god with all our hearts and love our neighbours as we would love ourselves..

In Salem there are christian groups who come to preach at people and they arent received well.. They have the right heart but the wrong message. We go into Salem first and formost to love the people, we dont have an agenda n arent looking to lead people thru a sinners prayer or get them to believe they are dirty nasty sinners and are gonna burn in hell.. We just go in and love people and as a result the power of god shows up and people get healed, delivered, and encounter the love and power of god in a nonreligious way.

I proclaim the "Good News" that God is a good God in a good mood, that he wants to talk to you, he wants a personal relationship with you.. Hes not angry or upset with humanity and he doesnt punish people and cause earthquakes and famines.. He doesnt give people sickness so they can learn to appreciate him and repent for there miserable lives, and he doesnt cause people to party, do drugs and alchohol so he can use there testimony.. He still heals people, he still encounters people thru dreams, visions, and experiences, he can give a joy which will carry you thru the roughest of times and his love is greater than anything.. His presence is an intoxicating peace which is greater then any experience u can have in drugs or alchohol..

Most people know the angry god that was presented to them thru the chuch, but they havent met the good God in a good mood.. So I like to introduce them to this good God who changed my life.. That is our mandate as believers of Jesus is to present the "Good News" and bring life and light into darkness and death..

Well again ive gotten chatty haha and only told one story.. I will share with you one more story from Salem.. As well check out a fellow student at streams of mine's blog: http://abigaillyn.wordpress.com/ Her name is Abby and she has some interesting thoughts and stories from her life, as well as some amazing songs as shes a budding young star.. :) Shout out to you Abby..

Me and my brother Caleb were talking to a guy in a penguin pajama costume.. He had back pain but wasnt really that interested and kept wanting to tell us he didnt believe in God.. We said thats ok because God believed in him and wanted to heal him anyway! Caleb told him that God was gonna move thru him and he would pray for himself to get healed.. The man did so and was totally healed haha! He was baffled and walked away shaking his head and muttering!!

It was so great to see that many people who didnt believe God still healed, and used them to heal other people.. Once they saw this power of God they came to believe in him and question there views on spirituality... Great Times at Salem and Im out fot today... Off to watch a soccer game
